SB 6246 - DIGEST

     Declares that this act is remedial in nature and is intended to make victim penalty assessments reflect the increased costs of crime-related expenses and criminal justice costs since the inception of victim penalty assessments.

     Provides that, for persons who are convicted on or after June 6, 1996, for one or more felonies or gross misdemeanors committed before June 6, 1996, the penalty assessment shall be two hundred fifty dollars.
