    On page 3, on line 15 of the committee amendment, after "age.", strike "Participating retailers shall provide materials relating to drug prevention and treatment and safe disposal techniques at the point of sale.  The Washington board of pharmacy shall adopt rules implementing the provisions of this subsection." and insert:

"Participating retailers shall provide purchasers with verbal and printed instructions relating to safe disposal techniques, information regarding the risks to self and others of contracting bloodborne diseases, and available community resources for drug prevention and treatment at the point of sale.  The Washington board of pharmacy shall adopt rules implementing the provisions of this subsection and develop uniform information to be provided by participating retailers to purchasers as required by this subsection."

    Renumber the sections consecutively and correct any internal references accordingly.

EFFECT: Clarifies the information to be provided by each retailer selling hypodermic syringes and needles.
