            WHEREAS, Dan Snow’s commitment to public transportation began thirty years ago when he became a bus driver; and

 

            WHEREAS, In 1980, Snow became operations director at Intercity Transit, where he stayed for eight years; and


            WHEREAS, In 1987, Snow started Island Transit, providing vision and leadership as the organization’s first general manager; and 

            WHEREAS, In October of 1991, Dan Snow became the Executive Director of the Washington State Transit Association, nonprofit corporation representing all twenty-five transit systems in the state and Washington State Ferries; and

 

            WHEREAS, With the Washington State Transit Association, Snow has worked on numerous projects and served on several committees, representing minority viewpoints with good humor and without bias; and

 

            WHEREAS, His accomplishments have caused his colleagues to regard him in high esteem and with warm affection; and

 

            WHEREAS, Snow’s personal integrity, advocacy and sense of values have served the public transportation industry and the people of this state well;

 

            NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, That the Washington State Senate honor Dan Snow for his commitment to public transportation; and

 

            BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be immediately transmitted by the Secretary of the Senate to Dan Snow, Executive Director of the Washington State Transit Association.
