HB 2283 - DIGEST
Provides that no dealer may knowingly sell or offer for sale any food product represented as "halal" or "halal style" when that dealer knows that the food product is not halal and when the representation is likely to cause a prospective purchaser to believe that it is halal. This representation can be made orally or in writing, or by display of a sign, mark, insignia, or simulation.
Declares that a violation of this act constitutes a violation of the consumer protection act, chapter 19.86 RCW.
Declares that a dealer who violates any provision of this act is guilty of a gross misdemeanor.
