   On page 1, after line 25, insert the following:

   "(3) The tax imposed under this section shall be deducted from the amount of tax otherwise required to be collected or paid over to the department under chapter 82.08 or 82.12 RCW. The department shall perform the collection of such taxes on behalf of the county at no cost to the county."

   Renumber remaining subsections consecutively and correct internal references accordingly.

EFFECT: Credits the new county sales tax against the state sales tax, so that the consumer does not face an increase in the effective tax rate.
