Strike everything after the enacting clause and insert the following:

"NEW SECTION. Sec. 1. A study shall be conducted concerning the safety of the private ownership of exotic wild animals. The study shall be conducted by two members of the house of representatives, who are appointed by the speaker of the house of representatives, and two members of the senate, who are appointed by the president of the senate. The four appointed members shall involve interested parties as appropriate. The study shall include identifying animals which may be considered dangerous as pets, the potential harm these animals may cause if privately owned, and ways in which local jurisdictions and public agencies may act to protect the public against possible health and safety threats of owning wild animals."
