Background:
Current law provides that the county commissioners of each county are, by virtue of their office, supervisors of the flood control zones created in their county. In any zone with more than two thousand residents, an election of supervisors other than the board of county commissioners may be held, subject to certain requirements.
Summary of Bill:
Delegates duties to a flood control zone district.
Allows flood control zone districts with elected supervisors to appoint a county engineer to administer the affairs of the zone.
Requires the county engineer to administer the affairs of the zone in flood control zone districts without elected supervisors.

Fiscal Note: Not requested.
Effective Date: The bill takes effect 90 days after adjournment of session in which bill is passed.
