Background: The Department of Social and Health Services (DSHS) is required to provide 34 reports on a quarterly, semi-annual, or annual basis, in addition to other one-time reporting requirements.

Summary of Amended Bill: DSHS is relieved of the duty to file 15 reports, but must provide an annual report to the Legislature concerning the implementation of the Family Reconciliation Act and the Juvenile Court Act in Cases Relating to Dependency of a Child and the Termination of a Parent.

DSHS must also provide an annual report to the Legislature regarding any transfers of funds.

Amended Bill Compared to Original Bill: A report from DSHS regarding disproportionality in the state's juvenile justice system is modified rather than eliminated.

Effective Date: Ninety days after adjournment of session in which bill is passed.
