Background: Campaign finance law forbids state officials and persons employed by them from soliciting or accepting campaign contributions during the period 30 days before the beginning of a regular legislative session and continuing through the 30th day after the date of that session's final adjournment.

Summary of Substitute Bill: The period during which a state official and persons employed by him or her may not solicit or accept campaign contributions extends through the day of that session's final adjournment.
