WHEREAS, The families and loved ones of the members of the Armed
Services, who reside across the state, have made great sacrifices by
supporting and encouraging their Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, and Marines
to serve the needs of the people of this great State and the United
States as a whole; and
WHEREAS, These families and loved ones endure stress, grief, and
heartbreak caused by the separation of deployments and the need of the
armed forces to be in harm's way while protecting the freedoms and
interests of this great country with little ability to communicate with
their loved ones in harm's way; and
WHEREAS, Many times these families and loved ones endure financial
hardships due to loss of wages caused by these deployments. These
families and loved ones must also carry the full burden of taking care
of households, finances, children, and unforeseen crises, many times
without outside help and support of others; and
WHEREAS, Some families and loved ones have been, and may still be,
required to endure the knowledge of serious injury and death among
their loved ones currently deployed; and
WHEREAS, These families and loved ones continue to stand by and
support those still deployed in defense of the State of Washington and
the United States knowing that their loved ones may be injured or
killed in the line of duty;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives
express its thanks and appreciation to the devoted families and loved
ones of those in the service of their country for their support and
sacrifice without which the armed forces could not be successful; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives
specifically and particularly recognize and express condolences to
those families and loved ones who have dealt with the loss or serious
injury of a loved one due to their commitment and dedication to serving
their country; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be
immediately transmitted by the Chief Clerk of the House of
Representatives to The Adjutant General of the Washington National
Guard, the Governor of the State of Washington, the Secretaries of each
of the Armed Services, and the President of the United States.
