AN ACT Relating to a pilot project by the department of labor and industries to determine the feasibility and benefits for medical monitoring of agricultural workers; and creating a new section.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON:
NEW SECTION. Sec. 1 The legislature is interested in tracking
the rule development and implementation process for cholinesterase
medical monitoring of farm workers who handle cholinesterase-inhibiting
pesticides. The department of labor and industries and stakeholders
representing agricultural employers and employees shall report to the
house commerce and labor committee and the senate agriculture committee
by September 1, 2003, and by December 1, 2003, on the status of the
rule development and implementation.
