SB 5201 - DIGEST

Directs the state comprehensive emergency plan and program to, by use of mutual aid arrangements as provided by chapter 38.52 RCW, or otherwise, ensure to the fullest extent possible that the back-up emergency communications coverage provided by the amateur radio network, as described in the state of Washington radio amateur civil emergency services plan, shall be complete and without gaps throughout the entire state.

Requires the emergency management council to report to the appropriate standing committees of the senate and house of representatives during each regular session of the legislature on the readiness status of the amateur radio network to provide back-up emergency communications coverage without gaps throughout the entire state.
