   On page 1, line 11, after "market." insert the following:

"The legislature recognizes that the state economy has greatly benefited from the foundation of low-cost renewable hydroelectric generation and that hydroelectric power makes a valuable contribution to the state's electricity network."

   On page 1, line 13, after "development of" insert "new"

   On page 1, at the beginning of line 17, strike all text through "demand." on line 17 and insert "new energy sources to meet electricity and energy demand."

EFFECT: Revises the intent section to state that hydroelectric power makes a valuable contribution to the state's electricity network and to recognize that the legislature intends to encourage the development of new energy sources.
