   On page 3, beginning on line 13, after "media" ", strike everything through "subsection" on line 32, and insert the following:

   "includes, but is not limited to, any newspaper, magazine, or other periodical, book, pamphlet, news service, wire service, news or feature syndicate, broadcast station or network, or cable television system. Any information that is a portion of a governmental utterance made by an official or employee of government within the scope of the official's or employee's governmental function is not included within the meaning of "news media"."

   Renumber the sections consecutively and correct any internal references accordingly.

EFFECT: Changes the definition of "news media" to parallel Oregon law on the same subject, including deleting references to journalists.
