Background: The Teachers[rsquo ], School Employees', and Public Employees' Retirement Systems provide pension benefits for a variety of state and local government employees. The Public Safety Employees' Retirement System is a new retirement system which was created by the 2004 Legislature and will be opened to members on July 1, 2006. The Department of Retirement Systems is responsible for the administration of the various state pension plans.

Summary of Bill: Erroneously omitted cross references between pension statutes are inserted. Other statutory references are corrected. Employers are allowed to submit certain types of employee information to the Department of Retirement Systems in electronic rather than written format.
