Background: Poor or inaccurate documentation of information provided to the Division of Child Care Licensing and the Community Services Division in the Department of Social and Health Services has caused concerns regarding the accuracy of payment records involving state-subsidized child care providers.
Summary of Bill: Children receiving state-subsidized child care will have a unique identifying number assigned to them to track attendance and state payments. The number used cannot be his or her social security number.

With Concerns: The fiscal impact to provide an identification number for each child could be
significant. We are concerned about this impact.
