WHEREAS, SkillsUSA is a national nonprofit organization that
supports high school and college students and others in the development
of occupational and leadership skills; and
WHEREAS, The River Ridge High School Chapter of SkillsUSA has
designated the second week of March as SkillsUSA Week; and
WHEREAS, The theme is "SkillsUSA: Champions at Work Week"; and
WHEREAS, The national and state offices of SkillsUSA celebrate the
successes of the River Ridge Chapter and its preparation of students
with employability and life skills; and
WHEREAS, The River Ridge Chapter has, over the past 12 years,
earned 989 state and national medals, produced 4 State Presidents, 5
State Vice Presidents, and a total of 38 State Officers;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives
recognize the second week of March as SkillsUSA Week at River Ridge
High School and honor the students and citizens who participate in the
activities of SkillsUSA; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be
immediately transmitted by the Chief Clerk of the House of
Representatives to River Ridge High School and Mr. Keith Kuniyasu,
Advisor for Hawk Communications/SkillsUSA.
