   On page 4, line 30, before "structure," insert "major"

   On page 4, line 31, strike "must" and insert "may"

   On page 4, line 33, after "when" insert "it determines that"

   On page 4, beginning on line 35, after "work" strike "to remove any obstructions, repair existing structures, restore banks, restore road or highway access, protect fish resources, or protect" and insert "necessary to abate the chronic danger by removing any obstructions, repairing existing structures, restoring banks, restoring road or highway access, protecting fish resources, or protecting"

EFFECT: Makes the duty for a county to determine that a chronic flood damage exists discretionary, specifies that a threatened structure must be a major structure before a chronic flood danger can be declared, and specifies that the permit required to be issued by the Department of Fish and Wildlife is limited to permitting work necessary to abate chronic flood danger.
