   On page 2, line 17, after "accurate." strike all material through "prevention." on line 19 and insert "Every public school that offers sexual health education must, at a minimum, offer both abstinence education and a sexual health program that includes instruction and materials on contraceptives and disease prevention. Each program may be taught as a separate unit and may or may not be taught in separate blocks of time."

EFFECT: Deletes a prohibition on teaching abstinence without teaching about contraceptives and disease prevention, and replaces it with a requirement that public schools offering sexual health education programs must, at a minimum, offer both abstinence education and instruction on contraceptives and disease prevention. The programs may be taught as separate units and in either the same or separate blocks of time.
