   On page 3, line 19, after "(4)" strike all material through "officer" on line 28, and insert the following:

    "For purposes of civil liability, a tribal officer exercising general authority law enforcement power granted under this chapter shall not be considered an employee of the state of Washington. The state of Washington and its individual employees shall not be liable for the commissioning of a tribal officer under this section, nor for the negligence or other misconduct of tribal officers" 

    EFFECT: Clarifies that for purposes of civil liability, a     tribal officer commissioned under this chapter shall not be     considered an employee of the state of Washington.
