   On page 3, line 26 strike all of subsection (3) and insert:

   "(3) The joint transportation committee shall establish a task force on regional governance, with members as provided in this subsection.

   (a) The president of the senate shall appoint two members from each of the two largest caucuses of the senate;

   (b) The speaker of the house of representatives shall appoint two members from each of the two largest caucuses of the house of representatives;

   (c) The governor shall appoint two members who have previous, recent experience analyzing regional transportation governance in the central Puget Sound region;

   (d) The governor or her designee;

   (e) The task force shall choose its co-chairs from among its legislative membership."

   On page 4, line 3, after "(2)" strike all material through "issues:" on line 6 and insert:

   "The task force may, subject to availability of funding in the joint transportation committee's budget:

   (a) Hire staff and contract for technical experts as is necessary; and

   (b) Establish legal and technical work groups to conduct its work.

   (3)"

   Renumber the sections consecutively and correct any internal references accordingly.

EFFECT: Modifies task force membership. Makes other technical changes.
