   On page 5, beginning on line 30, after "(1)" strike the remainder of the section and insert "On or after January 1, 2010, the department of general administration shall purchase only general purpose lights containing levels of hazardous substances that meet permissible levels covered by the RoHS directive of the European Union."

   On page 7, beginning on line 18, strike all of sections 3, 4, and 5

   Renumber the remaining sections consecutively, correct any internal references accordingly and correct the title.

EFFECT: Requires the Department of General Administration to purchase only general purpose lights containing levels of hazardous substances that meet permissible levels covered by the RoHS directive of the European Union. Removes sections that incorporate by reference federal minimum energy efficiency standards for general service incandescent lamps and that require the enforcement of these standards by the Department of Community, Trade, and Economic Development.
