   On page 2, after line 12, insert the following:

   "For purposes of efficiency, cost savings, and improved service, and in lieu of counties consolidating or merging as otherwise provided under this subsection, a county may receive general state sales and use tax revenues, in the form of a credit against the state tax, from taxable events occurring within the county, in an amount up to 0.1 percent of the selling price in the case of a sales tax or value of the article used in the case of a use tax."

EFFECT: Allows a county to retain a portion of the state sales and use tax to improve efficiency, cost savings, and service in the county.
