   On page 2, line 6 of the striking amendment, after "(a)" strike all material through "governor" on line 8 and insert "The governor, who shall serve as chair of the task force"

   On page 3, line 3 of the striking amendment, after "report" strike "by September 15, 2007,"

   On page 3, line 8 of the striking amendment, after "report" strike "by December 1, 2007,"

   On page 3, line 21 of the striking amendment, after "force by" strike "September 15, 2008" and insert "December 15, 2007"

EFFECT: Makes the Governor the Chair of the Joint Task Force on Basic Education Finance, rather than having a chair appointed by the Governor. Removes the report timelines for all except the final report, which is due December 15, 2007 rather than September 15, 2008.
