   On page 4, line 13 of the amendment, after "(4)" insert "The department of health may grant an extension to the sixty-day time limit to initiate implementation of the shellfish protection program, provided that all of the following conditions are met:

   (a) Each extension may not be more than 30 days; and

   (b) No more than two extensions may be granted for each shellfish area.

   (5)"

   Renumber the remaining subsections consecutively and correct any internal references accordingly.

EFFECT: Allows county legislative authorities as many as two 30-day extensions to initiate implementation of shellfish protection programs.
