Brief Summary of Bill |
|
Hearing Date: 1/30/08
Staff: Jason Callahan (786-7117).
Background:
The State Wildlife Account receives various revenues collected by the Department of Fish and
Wildlife (Department). This revenue includes, among many items, the sales of many Department
issued licenses and tags, administrative penalties, compensation for damages, advertisement
sales, and a game fish excise tax (RCW 77.12.170 & .184). Monies in the Wildlife Account are
used to primarily to support Department activities.
Prior to 2005, the Wildlife Account was legally named the Wildlife Fund. The Legislature
changes the legal title to the Wildlife Account in 2005, but did not correct the existing
cross-references.
Summary of Bill:
References to the antiquated name "Wildlife Fund" are corrected to reference the correct name,
which is "Wildlife Account".
Appropriation: None.
Fiscal Note: Not requested.
Effective Date: The bill takes effect 90 days after adjournment of session in which bill is passed.
