  • Allows all active duty military personnel to pay the same fee for a temporary combination fishing license as a Washington resident would pay.

Background:

All individuals over the age of 15 are required to purchase a personal use fishing license prior to recreationally fishing for or possessing fish from state waters or offshore waters. There are a number of personal use fishing licenses available, including a temporary combination fishing license (temporary license). The temporary license is valid for between one and five days, and is priced as follows:

Summary of Bill:

All active duty military personnel are eligible to pay the same fee for a temporary license as a Washington resident would pay. To qualify, the person must be currently in active duty with any branch of the United States armed services and present valid military identification at the time the temporary license is purchased.

Fiscal Note: Available.

Effective Date: The bill takes effect 90 days after adjournment of session in which bill is passed.
