WHEREAS, SkillsUSA is a national nonprofit organization that helps
high school and college students develop important occupational and
leadership skills; and
WHEREAS, River Ridge High School of Lacey is celebrating national
SkillsUSA Week the second week of February; and
WHEREAS, The theme is "SkillsUSA: Champions at Work Week"; and
WHEREAS, River Ridge High School has a state and nationally
recognized SkillsUSA program honored for its preparation of students
with employability and life skills; and
WHEREAS, The River Ridge High School chapter has, over the past 14
years, earned 1,030 state and national medals, and produced a total of
5 State Presidents and 42 State Officers;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives
honor SkillsUSA Week and honor River Ridge High School students, staff,
and volunteers who participate in the activities of SkillsUSA; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be
immediately transmitted by the Chief Clerk of the House of
Representatives to River Ridge High School and Mr. Keith Kuniyasu,
Advisor for SkillsUSA.
