    On page 2, line 26 of the striking amendment, after "representative;" insert the following:

    "(e) The secretary or the secretary's designee has determined that deportation or exclusion would not result in the abandonment of dependents of the alien offender;"

    Renumber remaining subsections consecutively and correct any internal references accordingly.

EFFECT:  Requires the Secretary of the Department of Corrections, or his or her designee, prior to placing an alien offender on conditional release status, to determine that the deportation or exclusion of the offender will not result in the abandonment of any dependents of the offender.
