AN ACT Relating to falconry; adding a new section to chapter 77.32 RCW; and adding a new section to chapter 77.15 RCW.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON:
NEW SECTION. Sec. 1 A new section is added to chapter 77.32 RCW
to read as follows:
The director shall adopt fees for the issuance and monitoring of
permits issued by the department for the purpose of falconry, taking of
a wild raptor, captive live propagation, and for the possession,
transfer, use, and disposition of raptors. The falconry permit is
valid for two years and the permit fee is one hundred dollars for
residents and five hundred dollars for nonresidents. Fees may not be
collected in any period when the United States fish and wildlife
service charges a fee for the issuance of a substantially similar
permit. The fees may not be imposed before the current fees charged by
such federal agency are discontinued.
NEW SECTION. Sec. 2 A new section is added to chapter 77.15 RCW
to read as follows:
Nothing in RCW 77.15.194 prohibits the use of body gripping traps
for the capturing of live raptors for falconry authorized under a
falconry permit issued by the director.
