Strike everything after the enacting clause and insert the following:
"NEW SECTION. Sec. 1 A new section is added to chapter 59.20 RCW
to read as follows:
(1) A landlord shall provide a written receipt for any payment made
by a tenant in the form of cash.
(2) A landlord shall provide, upon the request of a tenant, a
written receipt for any payments made by the tenant in a form other
than cash."

On page 1, line 2 of the title, after "act;" strike the remainder of the title and insert "and adding a new section to chapter 59.20 RCW."
EFFECT: (1) Requires landlords to provide receipts to tenants for
any payments made in the form of cash, and requires landlords to
provide receipts for any other type of payment upon the request of a
tenant.
(2) Removes the requirement that receipts must be provided within
15 business days of the request, and removes the language allowing a
tenant to request receipts for sums paid within the previous year.
