    On page 4, after line 11, insert the following:

NEW SECTION. Sec. 3.  This act shall not be used, directly or indirectly, as a basis for a cause of action claiming damages for a violation of proprietary intellectual property subject to one or more United States patents.

Renumber the remaining sections consecutively and correct any internal references accordingly.

EFFECT:   Provides that the statutory provisions under the usage-based automobile insurance act may not be used as a basis for a cause of action claiming damages for a violation of proprietary intellectual property subject to one or more United States patents.
