On page 6, beginning on line 19, after "(1)" strike all material through "enacted." on line 30 and insert "Counties, cities, and towns may enact ordinances providing that nonprofit patient cooperatives are permitted to operate within their jurisdiction. Nonprofit patient cooperatives are prohibited from operating within a county, city, or town unless such an ordinance is enacted."
On page 6, line 31, after "that" strike "does not prohibit" and insert "permits"
On page 7, beginning on line 12, after "2(1)" strike all material through "(1)(b)" on line 13
EFFECT: Removes the provision which permits nonprofit patient cooperatives and provides local jurisdictions with opt in or opt out options based on population. Nonprofit patient cooperatives are prohibited from operating within a county, city, or town unless a county, city, or town enacts an ordinance providing that nonprofit patient cooperatives are allowed to operate within that jurisdiction.
