On page 5, line 17 of the amendment, after "section." insert "Any school district or consortium of school districts may opt out of the school employees' benefits board. All aspects detailed in this act apply to school districts or consortiums that opt out. School districts or consortiums that opt out qualify for equal funding as school districts participating in the school employees' benefits board. School districts or consortiums may retain for general administrative purposes the difference between school employees' benefits board funding and actual amounts paid for medical plans."
On page 5, line 21 of the amendment, after "(i)" strike all material through "(iv)" on line 28
Reletter the remaining subsections consecutively and correct any internal references accordingly.
EFFECT: Allows school districts to opt out of SEBB. Clarifies that schools that opt out of SEBB qualify for the same amount of funding as those which are in SEBB. School districts may retain difference between SEBB funding and actual amounts paid.
