Background:

Three separate bills made changes to chapter 42.17A in 2010 and 2011, resulting in a double amendment relating to additional powers of the Public Disclosure Commission (PDC) and a reenactment of an earlier law relating to identifying political committee depositories with the PDC and the appropriate county elections officer.

Summary of Bill:

Changes are made to correct for a double amendment to chapter 42.17A relating to additional powers of the PDC. Political committees are not required to file with the appropriate county elections officer the name of the account or accounts maintained in a depository on behalf of that political committee.

Effective Date: The bill takes effect 90 days after adjournment of the session in which the bill is passed.
