House Committee on Agriculture & Natural Resources

Background: Technical errors, including incorrect cross-references and obsolete provisions, may arise in the Revised Code of Washington (RCW) when legislation fails to make necessary conforming amendments to all affected RCW sections. The Statute Law Committee and other parties occasionally propose non-substantive corrective legislation.

Summary: Statutes administered by the state Department of Agriculture are revised to correct, change, or delete incorrect cross-references, obsolete provisions, misspelled terms, and outmoded language. An intent section provides that no substantive changes are intended or implied.
