Background: The Agency Council on Coordinated Transportation (ACCT) is a 14 member council of state agencies, transportation providers, consumer advocates and legislators with the mission to:
promote the coordination of special needs transportation;
provide a forum for discussing issues and initiating change;
provide oversight and direction to the state's coordination agenda; and
report to the Legislature and propose legislative remedies.
Current law has the council terminating on June 30, 2011, and all related sections of the revised code of Washington (RCW) being repealed on June 30, 2012.
Summary of Bill: Extends ACCT until June 30, 2013, and the related sections of RCW until June 30, 2014.
Appropriation: None.
Fiscal Note: Requested on February 17, 2011.

Effective Date: Ninety days after adjournment of session in which bill is passed.
Staff Summary of Public Testimony: PRO: Public transportation is a vital service for people with special needs. This program has brought the right people together to talk about how to coordinate special needs transportation. Now they need to implement the pilot programs to determine what works.
