Background: Individuals seeking to offer real estate brokerage services must obtain the appropriate real estate broker, managing broker, designated broker, or real estate firm license from the Department of Licensing. A real estate brokerage license is valid for two years, and applicants must have a fingerprint and background check done in conjunction with the initial application and every six years thereafter.

Summary of Bill: The bill as referred to committee not considered.

Summary of Bill (Proposed Substitute): The director has the discretion to waive the fingerprint and background check requirements at the initial application for a license for veterans who have been honorably discharged from a branch of the United States armed forces.
