On page 6, line 10, after "tribe" insert ", if (a) the tribe is"
On page 6, line 11, after "state," strike "if that" and insert
"((if that)) and (b) the"
On page 6, after line 37, insert the following:
"(c) "Economic development" means activities which facilitate the
creation or retention of businesses and jobs that improve the standard
of living and economic health of tribal communities."
EFFECT: Includes a definition of "economic development" for
purposes of tax-exempt property owned by a tribe.
Clarifies that the property tax exemption applies to tribes that
are located in the state.
