Background:

A direct practice is a provider, group of providers, or entity that:

Direct practices are not considered insurance and are therefore exempt from most insurance laws.

A direct practice may not provide prescription drugs in consideration for the fee.

Summary of Bill:

A direct practice may, in consideration for the fee, pay for charges associated with the provision of prescription drugs.

Effective Date: The bill takes effect 90 days after adjournment of the session in which the bill is passed.
