     AN ACT Relating to tow truck operators' handling of unmarked government vehicles; and adding a new section to chapter 46.55 RCW.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON:

NEW SECTION.  Sec. 1   A new section is added to chapter 46.55 RCW to read as follows:
     A registered tow truck operator may not be placed in legal jeopardy of any kind whatsoever for impounding, transporting, or storing an unauthorized vehicle that is unmarked and is owned, leased, rented, or otherwise used by any state or local government. For purposes of this section, "local government" includes any city, county, or other subdivision of the state and any municipal corporation, quasi-municipal corporation, or special district within the state.
