WHEREAS, Consul General Gao Zhansheng, of the People's Republic of
China in San Francisco, is retiring; and
WHEREAS, The Consul General dedicated years of service to the
People's Republic of China in San Francisco after being born in Beijing
in July 1952 and graduating from a university; and
WHEREAS, Consul General Gao had a distinguished career with the
People's Republic of China beginning in 1977 that brought a mutual
understanding between the American and Chinese people and deepened the
bond between the two great countries; and
WHEREAS, The state of Washington has an excellent relationship with
the People's Republic of China, and the two are valuable trade
partners; and
WHEREAS, Consul General Gao Zhansheng has made the decision to
retire. He will leave behind the results of notable partnership
efforts between American and Chinese people;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, That the members and staff of the
Washington State Senate offer their best wishes for a fulfilling
retirement to Consul General Gao Zhansheng;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be
immediately transmitted by the Secretary of the Senate to Consul
General Gao Zhansheng.
