Background:

In 2011 laws were enacted consolidating procurement functions into the newly created Department of Enterprise Services (DES). The DES was tasked with reforming and consolidating state procurement practices. In 2012 laws relating to the procurement of goods and services and personal services contracts were reorganized and re-codified into a new chapter in Title 39 RCW.

Summary of Bill:

Changes are made to correct statutory cross-references, clarify policy, and repeal outdated provisions of law pertaining to procurement.
