Background:
During the third special legislative session of 2015, the Legislature passed and the Governor signed Second Engrossed Substitute Senate Bill 5987 (2ESSB 5987), which was a extensive transportation revenue bill intended to provide funding for transportation projects throughout the state.
The fee for the enhanced driver's license is set at $54, in addition to the fees for a regular driver's license or identicard, beginning on July 1, 2016, but no fee is set in statute before that date.
The total amount of the Commute Trip Reduction Tax Credit per year is capped at both $1.5 million and $2.75 million.
Summary of Bill:
The intent section indicates that there were drafting errors in 2ESSB 5987, and that it is the intent of the Legislature to make technical changes to correct these errors.
