HB 2254 - DIGEST

Requires the office of the superintendent of public instruction to develop a social media safety model curriculum, or update an existing curriculum on social media, that: (1) Includes age-appropriate safety lessons on how to respond to alarming or disturbing social media posts; and

(2) Provides information regarding the availability of means to report the posts anonymously.

Authorizes a school district to: (1) Use the model curriculum developed by the office of the superintendent of public instruction;

(2) Develop its own curriculum; or

(3) Use another curriculum that includes the requisite information.
