Requiring social media safety curricula and programs for common schools.
Requires the office of the superintendent of public instruction to develop a social media safety model curriculum, or update an existing curriculum on social media, that: (1) Includes age-appropriate safety lessons on how to respond to alarming or disturbing social media posts; and(2) Provides information regarding the availability of means to report the posts anonymously.Authorizes a school district to: (1) Use the model curriculum developed by the office of the superintendent of public instruction;(2) Develop its own curriculum; or(3) Use another curriculum that includes the requisite information.
