    On page 256, after line 15, insert the following:

    "(22) Within existing appropriations, the department shall submit Alternative B and Alternative F as outlined in the draft environmental impact statement for the marbled murrelet long-term conservation strategy dated December 2016, to the United States fish and wildlife service, if the service allows more than one alternative to be submitted. Alternative B and Alternative F shall be submitted for the evaluation to determine if the alternatives meet the requirements of the 1997 Washington state lands habitat conservation plan and other applicable federal law in a manner consistent with the department's legal and fiduciary obligations to trust beneficiaries."

EFFECT: Requires the Department of Natural Resources to submit two specific alternatives to the United State Fish and Wildlife Service, as described in the Draft Environmental Impact Statement, for land conservation for the marbled murrelet.  

FISCAL IMPACT: No net change to appropriated levels.
