HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 2018-4658, by Representatives Eslick, Dent, Haler, Johnson, Kraft, Muri, McCabe, Smith, Jenkin, and Kilduff
WHEREAS, It is the policy of the Washington State Legislature to recognize excellence in all fields of endeavor; and
WHEREAS, In September of 2017, Linne Haywood received the Northwest Educational Service District's 2018 Regional Teacher of the Year award; and
WHEREAS, Linne Haywood started as a substitute teacher in 1990 before becoming a full-time teacher in 2005; and
WHEREAS, Linne Haywood serves as a director of a program helping students receive credits and complete their diploma after dropping out of high school; and
WHEREAS, In 2010, she began teaching shortly thereafter becoming ASB advisor; and
WHEREAS, In 2017, she began teaching two classes allowing her students to earn both high school and college credits; and
WHEREAS, Not only is Linne Haywood a volleyball coach in her district, and the senior advisor, but also the Harassment, Intimidation, and Bullying officer; and
WHEREAS, Linne Haywood is the building representative for her local union and she leads professional development for the high school staff; and
WHEREAS, Her dedication to children and their families have led to a job as the president of the local North Counties Family Services Board of Directors; and
WHEREAS, Never one to shy away, Linne Haywood is always quick to say "yes," and eager to help those in need; and
WHEREAS, Linne Haywood is a mother of four incredible children all of whom are alumni of Darrington High School; and
WHEREAS, Linne Haywood has always shown determination to ensure her students are successful both in the classroom and in the real world; and
WHEREAS, Passion and dedication have been prevalent throughout all of Linne Haywood's teaching career; and
WHEREAS, For the past 28 years Linne Haywood has been a strong role model to her fellow coworkers in the Darrington School District;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives honor Linne Haywood for her dedicated service to the Darrington School District and for encouraging students and all who she encounters to better themselves and strive for greatness; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That a copy of this resolution be immediately transmitted by the Chief Clerk of the House of Representatives to Linne Haywood.
