EFFECT:  Adds an exemption from the large capacity magazine prohibitions for any person who lawfully possesses a firearm for the purpose of lawful self-defense or defense of the state, to the extent the person is otherwise authorized to acquire or possess a large capacity magazine and does so while acting within the scope of the person's duties.
