EFFECT: (1) Removes the requirement that qualified family members must meet all of the requirements in state law for the approved service they provide that would be required of any other long-term services and supports provider to receive payments from the state.
(2) Requires qualified family members to successfully pass the state's background check that is used for long-term care workers.
(3) Exempts qualified family members from the 75 hour long-term care worker training requirements and the home care aide certification requirements.
(4) Removes the requirement that qualified family members be paid in the same way as individual providers or through a home care agency and requires DSHS to pay qualified family members directly.
